Chelsea to take advantage of Arsenal exodus – reports

Andre Villas-Boas is targeting Arsenal star Theo Walcott, as Gael Clichy exits the London club for Manchester City, according to the Daily Mail.

Walcott has starred for Arsenal this season, and the 22-year-old is hot property on the transfer market as the Gunners look down the barrel of a mass exodus this summer.

Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri both look set for exits from the club, while Gael Clichy's deal has been completed with Manchester City. And now Chelsea are reportedly chasing down Walcott’s signature, and hope to snare the star as they attempt to lower the average age of the Blues squad.

Walcott is said to have an ‘uneasy’ relationship with Arsene Wenger over the amount of game time he was given last season. This, coupled with Arsenal going six seasons now without a trophy, are said to have alerted Chelsea over Walcott’s possible availability.

While Wenger insisted that no Arsenal players would be sold to rival clubs, Nasri looks likely to go to Manchester United, and the speculation is boosting Chelsea as they target Walcott.
