Lonergan fails to agree Leeds move

Published Add your comment

Preston goalkeeper Andy Lonergan has failed to agree personal terms with Leeds.

Lonergan held talks with United earlier this week after North End had accepted a reported fee of £200,000, but the Yorkshire club were not prepared to meet his wage demands.

Leeds have released Shane Higgs and sold number one Kasper Schmeichel to Leicester last month and although they have brought in Paul Rachubka following his release from Blackpool, manager Simon Grayson wants another proven goalkeeper in place before the start of the new season.
