The first fixture of the weekend is a blockbuster clash between Uruguay (7/5) and Chile (7/4). Plucky Peru (7/5) surprised in their opening fixture and will fancy themselves to beat a weakened Mexico (37/20) early on Saturday morning. On Saturday evening, Brazil (3/5) play Paraguay (9/2) in a game that looks set to decide Group B.
The outright market has shifted with Argentina’s disappointing form and there is value to be found in picking a tournament winner.
The Formula 1 season continues this week with the British Gran Prix from Silverstone. German wunderkind Sebastian Vettel is favourite (11/10) ahead of team-mate Mark Webber (4/1) who won the race in 2010.
The home crowd will be looking for a British victory and Lewis Hamilton (6/1) and Jenson Button (9/1) are well positioned for a shot at the podium whilst Scottish driver Paul Di Resta is a real outsider at (750/1). Betting will be available in-play, so be sure to follow the action and the prices on Sportingbet.
The flat season is in full flow and this weekend sees some top class racing from the July Cup meeting at Newmarket, as well as the John Smith’s Cup from York on Saturday.
In the Bunbury cup, King of Jazz (7/1) is favourite following a good second behind Royal Ascot winner Sagramor in his last time out. Manassas (10/1) will be ridden by Frankie Dettori and given his record in big fields, he should do well.
In the July Cup, Delegator (7/2) will be favourite but there is a cluster of horses with great claims, including Monsieur Chevalier and Dream Ahead (10/1), Bated Breath (13/2) and inseparable at 6/1 are Elzaam, and Australian sprinter Star Witness.
The John Smith’s Cup at York looks set to be a shootout between up-and-coming Pekan Star (4/1) and Royal Ascot winner Beachfire (7/1). The podcast tipped up 40/1 shot Kings Gambit as the outsider to watch for an each way punt.
