Ball on trial with Foxes

Published Add your comment

Sven-Goran Eriksson has confirmed that Michael Ball is having a trial with Leicester.

The former Everton and Rangers defender played under Eriksson at Manchester City but has been without a club since 2009 due to injury.

Speaking at City's pre-season training camp in Sweden, Eriksson told Fotbollskanalen: "I had Michael Ball at Manchester City. He has been injured for a year-and-a-half and has no club so I have invited him on for pre-season training."

"He added: "So far he has been good and if he continues like he has we will offer him a contract."

Leicester boss Eriksson has already signed six players this summer, while South African defender Tsepo Masilela underwent a medical with the club on Sunday.
