Doncaster captain Brian Stock could be back in action as soon as September, according to Rovers' medical staff.

The 29-year-old was expected to be sidelined until the New Year after having ankle reconstruction surgery earlier this summer.

Stock's recovery is ahead of schedule and the former Preston man will be gradually eased back into contention.
