Tottenham continue to take a firm stance regarding the possible departure of Luka Modric, despite Chelsea's persistence and the Croatian allegedly submitting a transfer request.
Manager Harry Redknapp has always maintained that he wants to ‘build a team - not dismantle it’ and that means Modric staying as a key player in his Spurs side.
Chairman Daniel Levy has always back his manager to the hilt, and is resisting the opportunity to cash in on their star man.
That’s good news as far as Michael Dawson, for one, is concerned and the defender hopes Spurs stick to their guns.
"This time of year there are always going to be rumours and Luka's been linked with Chelsea," the centre back told Sky Sports News.
"From a team's point of view you want to keep your best players and the chairman has come out and said he is going to keep him so that is great for the football club.
"We are all friends with Luka, we have got great team spirit amongst the players and we want to keep that together.
"The chairman has come out and said no-one is for sale so that's great."
