Taiwo Atieno is to be offered a contract by Torquay following a successful trial spell at Plainmoor.

The striker, released by League Two play-off final victors Stevenage at the end of last season, has impressed during his two-week spell, scoring in both pre-season victories over Tiverton and Bristol City.

Manager Martin Ling said: "I'm going to offer him something on Monday. It was a two-week trial and he's done enough to be offered something."

He added: "Taiwo scored a goal and showed his ability in the first-half against Bristol City.

"Whether there is also another team out there, you never know.

"He's shown me what he's about in the last two weeks."
