Chelsea have been boosted in their pursuit of playmaker Javier Pastore, with the star insisting Malaga have not made any formal offer for his signature.
“I only learned about Malaga from the newspapers and I was astounded. In any case, I don’t want to hear anything about my future until the Copa America has concluded,” Pastore said.
But while Chelsea have long been connected with Pastore on many occasions over the last few months, they look to face a Spanish fight for the 22-year-old, who has been rated by his agent at €50 million.
“I haven’t played in the Liga, but my friends tell me there’s more room from the midfield up,” Pastore said.
“If that is true, then obviously that will suit my football. I haven’t had a chance to play in Spain yet, but in future I could do. Who knows?”
Chelsea have made just one signing in the transfer window, young goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Fans and pundits alike are waiting to see what big moves incoming manager Andre Villas-Boas has planned for the coming months, as he looks to build the Chelsea squad to challenge for the Champions League trophy next season.
