Tranmere have signed striker Vinicius Dantas on a one-year contract, subject to a work permit, following a successful trial.

The 21-year old has trained with Rovers for the last week and scored twice in a behind-closed-doors game against Shrewsbury.

Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Dantas joins Les Parry's men from US college side Azuza Pacific and Christian University, where he spent the last three years studying sociology.

Parry said: "Vinni has done really well during his time here on trial. He's strong and sharp, has an eye for goal and will be a good addition to our squad.

"He's got a lot of potential which we'll be working hard to develop on the training ground.

"The next step in signing him is obtaining a work permit for him and hopefully our application will be successful."
