Tottenham continue to look to youth in the transfer market after confirming the signing of Ivory Coast starlet Souleymane Coulibaly.

The forward recently won the golden boot at the Under 17 World Cup after scoring nine goals in four games, which included a hat-trick against Brazil and four against Denmark.

The haul equalled the record in the competition set by Florent Sinama Pongolle, who achieved the feat ten years ago having played three more matches.

A Spurs statement said: "We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Souleymane Coulibaly to join the club."

The former Siena forward has been likened to fellow countryman Didier Drogba due his uncompromising playing style and was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid after catching the eye at the World Cup.

Coulibaly becomes the second young player to join the ranks at White Hart Lane following Cristian Ceballos' transfer from Barcelona last week.

The 18-year-old, who had previously had trials in north London, came straight from Barca's famous youth academy which has nurtured the likes of Cesc Fabregas.
