Blackburn’s owners have cleared up any confusion surrounding their transfer plans this summer by confirming the club are set to sign two players before the end of the transfer window.
As yet, Steve Kean's side have been unable to add to their squad following their 15th placed finish in the Barclays Premier League last season.
But the club's owners, Venky's, have put the club's supporters at ease, promising new additions before the start of the season.
“We are currently busy exploring the recruitment of a striker and a midfielder - and we fully intend to have both of them in place before the transfer window closes,” read a statement.
“We will continue to make every effort to bring in the players we feel we need and we ask you, our supporters, to remain patient.
“During the close season there is always a frenzy of transfer rumours linking every club in the land with a diverse range of players and we are no exception.
“We can assure our supporters that we will only enter into negotiations with other clubs and agents on terms which are commercially viable and are within the market norms accepted by every other club.
“We assure you that we will continue to explore all avenues to improve the squad for the sustainable long-term benefit of the club.”
One of those potential signings is set to be Argentine forward Mariano Pavone, whose agent confirmed last week had agreed terms with Rovers on a move to Ewood Park.
British representative, Barry McIntosh, told Sky Sports:"Mariano is delighted to get his chance in English football, he has spoken to several clubs but he was particularly impressed by Steve Kean.
"Steve made him feel very welcome and explained his plans, and Mariano was delighted with what he heard. He is now looking forward to the next chapter with an ambitious club like Blackburn."
