Becchio may need surgery

Leeds boss Simon Grayson has revealed Argentinian striker Luciano Becchio may require surgery on his troublesome hamstring injury.

The 27-year-old, who scored 20 goals last season, missed the end of last term because of the problem.

"We're just weighing things up with Luc now and whether or not he needs an operation," Grayson told the club's official website.

The injury forced Becchio to miss the pre-season trip to Scotland and he was also absent for Tuesday's friendly win at Rochdale.

Grayson continued: "We let things settle down over the summer after the injury last season and he did some light training when we came back, but he's got a ruptured tendon and we have to consider things now.

"We'll know more over the next few days in terms of which way we're going to go."
