Leicester manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has dropped a strong hint that he could be about to offer a contract to Michael Ball.

Ball, 31, has impressed Eriksson during pre-season, featuring in victories over IK Sirius and Vasalunds during the tour of Sweden.

"If he goes on like this, without getting injuries, I am sure we will offer him a contract," Eriksson told BBC Radio Leicester.

"He is a good player, he is experienced and he is good for the dressing room."

The former Everton and Rangers left-back has been without a club since leaving Manchester City in July 2009.
