With Europa League commitments added to their domestic campaign, you could forgive Stoke City for tackling their summer pre-season fixtures in a relaxed fashion, but Tony Pulis' men have refused to hold back.

The club are already mid-way through their pre-season program, having played four games in the past seven days including Wednesday's thrashing of Newcastle Town.

The club face two more pre-season fixtures against Brentford and Aldershot Town before beginning their European campaign at home to Hajduk Split on July 28th.

Striker Jonathan Walters says the club look in good shape ahead of their European adventure.

"I think we're looking good," he said. "We have certainly worked hard, but that is only what you can expect at this time of year.

"The manager has done things a little differently this year because we have the European game coming up before the start to the Premier League campaign, so he has tried to get us up to speed a little bit quicker than he maybe normally would do."

"We have all got a few 90 minutes of action under our belts which is fantastic, and now we just need to maintain what we have been doing down in London this weekend and try to get another couple of wins.

"Obviously, the most importing thing is building up our match fitness and sharpness, but it is still nice to get a couple of decent results and get some goals."
