Liverpool are chasing German international Marcell Jansen, The Sun claims, with the side now favourites to secure the versatile left-back’s signature.
The left-back position is one which has caused many headaches for Liverpool, with Kenny Dalglish desperate to fill the space with his large transfer budget this summer.
And Jansen would be a perfect fit for the long-standing gap in the Liverpool line up, with the 25-year-old starring for both Hamburg and Germany over the past few seasons.
Jansen has been connected with Liverpool on numerous occasions, including this time last summer, but while Roy Hodgson was unable to complete a deal for the left-back, who can also play in midfield, Dalglish is reportedly confident he can beat out opposition to the star.
While Jansen is rated at £10 million, Dalglish still has some money in the bank, and with the Liverpool manager hoping to complete a clean out of the squad over the summer, Dalglish is said to be confident that he can coax Jansen into a move.
