Chelsea are set to make a third and final bid for Luka Modric, in the vicinity of £30 million, according to the Daily Mirror.
Modric has long been the subject of transfer speculation, and while Harry Redknapp has continually insisted the playmaker will not move to another club this summer, rumours are circulating that for the right price, Modric will be sold.
Chelsea have bid £22 million and £27 million for Modric over the summer, both of which have been turned down by Tottenham. But Chelsea are reportedly now tabling a bid worth £30 million in the hopes that Spurs will be tempted to let their star go.
Modric is believed to be Andre Villas-Boas’ number one priority target, with the Chelsea manager keen to get the Croatia international on board to compliment £50 million star striker Fernando Torres.
And with that in mind, should Tottenham continue to rebuff Chelsea’s bids for Modric, the London club may change their stance on this being the last bid they will make for the star's signature.
