Newcastle have given top target Mevlut Erdinc until next week to make a decision over a move to the north-eastern club, according to the Journal.
Erdinc has long been a target for the Toon, but the £7 million valued striker has stalled on giving an answer, still considering his future at Champions League-bound club Paris Saint-Germain.
And while Alan Pardew has publicly issued an ultimatum to Erdinc to make up his mind over a move, the Newcastle manager is expected to give the Turkey international until next week, with Pardew desperate to land his top target.
Newcastle have even gone so far as to turn down offers for unwanted striker Nile Ranger to go out on loan, in case Erdinc decides against a move.
Pardew moved to assure fans this week that the club will definitely be chasing another striker this summer, as Newcastle look to find a long term replacement to fill Andy Carroll’s absence in the squad.
But with the transfer period now entering into the last month, Newcastle are no doubt starting to look at other targets should the Erdinc deal fall through.
