Andrey Arshavin has heaped praise on Arsenal and Tottenham target Alan Dzagoev, saying the star is the most talented young footballer in Russia.
"I hope he can develop as a player and he will be the key member of the national team,” Arshavin told Sovsport.ru.
“I think Alan is the most talented young footballer from Russia."
Arsenal and Tottenham have both been linked to the 21-year-old, who plays for CSKA Moscow, and the clubs are believed to have both submitted £12 million bids for Dzagoev, according to Sky Sports.
The starlet made his debut for the Russian national squad in 2008, and was the youngest player ever to feature for the side.
Real Madrid were also reportedly interested in the star, but Dzagoev revealed he would prefer a move to the Barclays Premier League, putting Tottenham and Arsenal in pole positions to sign the attacking midfielder.
And while Arsenal and Tottenham have both reportedly registered their interest in Dzagoev, Arshavin is believed to be hoping that his Russian teammate can join him at the Emirates next season.
