Manchester United have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Wesley Sneijder, with Inter Milan deciding that the only big money sale they will make this summer will be Samuel Eto’o, according to Gazetta dello Sport.

Eto’o has long been a target for Chelsea, with the striker admitting that next season he would like a move to the Barclays Premier League.

But City have reportedly made Eto’o their number one summer target after Sergio Aguero, who the club made a deal with this week for a staggering €40 million.

And with both Manchester City and Inter Milan playing in the Dublin Cup this weekend, the sides are set to talk about a possible move for Eto’o.

Manchester United, meanwhile, have been chasing Sneijder for some time, and the news of Eto’o making a move to City will no doubt come as a blow to United, with Inter likely to be more desperate to keep their star playmaker in the wake of Eto’o’s exit.

But should United be able to pull off a deal for Sneijder in the next week, the club may be able to steal the march on Inter selling Eto’o to City after all.
