City 'still monitoring' United's midfield wizard target - reports

Manchester City are still monitoring Samir Nasri's contract situation with Arsenal, according to Sky Sports.

The French midfielder is in the final year of his deal at The Gunners and has yet to sign a new contract.

City are considered the front runners for the midfielder, however Chelsea and United are also accessing the situation.

Nasri could leave Arsenal for free next summer, if he doesn't sign a new contract but decides to stay at The Gunners, but as yet the club haven't decided whether they would prefer to offload him while they can.

Wenger is reportedly not keen to sell Nasri to a Premier League rival, but knows he may be powerless to stop nasty joining City or United next summer, for nothing.

A deal for Nasri could become possible if Juan Mata joins Arsenal from Valencia this summer, paving the way for City or United to get their man.
