Manchester City are ready to bid for Arsenal star Samir Nasri, the Daily Mirror claims, with Roberto Mancini keen to get hold of the playmaker before Manchester United can make a play.
Nasri has starred for Arsenal since moving to the club in 2008 for a reported fee of £12 million. The Frenchman has not yet signed a contract extension with the Gunners, and Arsene Wenger is reportedly getting closer to accepting the idea of letting Nasri go rather than risking losing him for free next summer.
While Manchester United have been linked with Nasri all summer, and United players have even said they’d love to have Nasri on board at Old Trafford, Manchester City are said to have made Nasri their next priority signing.
City are looking at a bid in the vicinity of £22 million for Nasri, after United had a bid of £20 million turned down by Arsenal.
And while Arsenal have been trying to hold onto Nasri, the links with United and City continue, and should the 24-year-old request to leave, Wenger may have no choice but to sell his prized possession.
