Owen Coyle was delighted to see his Bolton Wanderers side continue their decent pre-season preparations with a comfortable win over League Two side Hereford United.
Goals from Chris Eagles, his first since joining from Burnley, Darren Pratley and Kevin Davies gave the Trotters their sixth successive pre-season victory.
Attention now turns to the club's glamour friendly against Levante on Friday, and Coyle was thrilled to see his side complete another impressive win.
"It was a nice come out with another win," Coyle said in his post-match interview. "Although as I have said, the results in pre-season are not important. For us, they are about preparation leading up to our opening game of the season against QPR on August 13.
"We have been working hard in training and we brought that to the match tonight. It was a professional and effective performance from our point of view and credit to Hereford, they kept us on our toes.
"Again, we were able to get valuable game time for the squad and we finish off our pre-season games against Levante on Friday.
"Thanks to all the fans who came along tonight and to Hereford for their extremely warm welcome."
Following defeat to Tampa Bay in their opening pre-season game, Coyle's side won both their following games on their tour of America, before a return home saw Bolton hit the goal trail.
Their thrashing of Bradford City was followed by a win over Bury and then Monday evening's defeat of Hereford.
Bolton begin their season with the visit of newly promoted Queens Park Rangers, before facing Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea by the start of October.
Coyle will be hoping that taking on lower league opposition in pre-season, and the victories that have come will make his side battle harder and high on confidence for a tough start to the season.
