South Korean striker Park Chu-Young has refused the chance to join Ligue 1 side Rennes, meaning a much rumoured move to Liverpool could still be on the cards.
Park has already made his intensions of leaving Monaco perfectly clear, following their relegation from Ligue 1 last season and was expected to accept a deal to join Rennes.
However, after Park rejected the deal, a move to Liverpool could still happen.
Rennes Sporting director Pierre Derossi said: "He does not come."
Liverpool director of football Damien Comolli is believed to be a big fan of the South Korea captain, who scored at last year's World Cup finals.
Under Kenny Dalglish, Liverpool have undergone something of revamp this summer, with the likes of Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson joining the club.
