Midfielder James Wesolowski has signed a one-year deal at Oldham.

The 23-year-old, who has been capped by Australia at Under-20 level, joins the Latics after his contract at Peterborough, which ran to June 2012, was terminated.

Wesolowski is expected to make his debut in Tuesday's Carling Cup tie against Carlisle at Boundary Park.

Dickov, who played alongside Wesolowski at Leicester, said: "What I like about James is that he is a winner as well as being a very good footballer, and I am delighted to have signed him.

"He may only be 23, but he has a lot of experience and last season was a regular in Peterborough's promotion-winning campaign.

"James is a quality player and he leads by example both on and off the pitch. We believe he will be another good addition to this squad."
