Leeds United are hoping to take Chelsea full back Ryan Bertrand on loan, according to The Mirror.
The England under 21 international, who signed a four-year deal earlier this summer, is expected to see his opportunities at Stamford Bridge limited this season with competition coming in the form of Ashley Cole.
Hence, Bertrand may be interested in a loan move this season, with Leeds reportedly leading the way for the Chelsea man.
Despite Cole, Leighton Baines and Stephen Warnock begin ahead of Bertrand in the pecking order, the full back is tipped for great things in the future, hence Chelsea's reluctance to sell the player, but willingness to expose him to competitive first team football.
Leeds began their Npower Championship campaign in disastrous circumstances, losing 3-1 to Southampton at St Mary's, as their bid to win promotion back to the Premier League started badly.
Simon Grayson's Leeds side are in dire need of some defensive back-ip and reportedly see Bertrand as the ideal candidate to help breath new life into their back four.
Chelsea begin their own league season this weekend with a trip to Stoke City.
