Juventus are fighting to get Chelsea defender Alex for £7 million, but the Blues are insistent that their Brazilian star will go for no less than £10.5 million, according to The Sun.

Alex has been out of favour at Chelsea, and with the arrival of new manager Andre Villas-Boas this summer, the Brazil international looks set to exit Stamford Bridge.

Juventus have recently emerged as front runners to secure Alex’s signature, but Chelsea are insistent that the Italian giants pay at least £10.5 million for 29-year-old, with Villas-Boas looking to build on his squad this month and in need of the extra cash.

The Old Lady have made an opening bid of £7 million, and Chelsea are reportedly hoping to negotiate over the next week to work out a quick solution and bring in replacements for the centre-back.
