Atletico Madrid appear to have won the race to sign long-term Liverpool target Arda Turan according to talkSPORT.
The 24-year-old Turkish international has commanded interest from a number of Europe's biggest clubs, after making a name for himself with Galatasaray.
However, the club are resigned to losing Turan after he expressed his desire for a new challenge, having previously expressed his admiration for Liverpool.
Reds boss Kenny Dalglish is believed to have considered a move for the talented winger, but instead opted for England international Stewart Downing - who arrived at Anfield for £20million.
With further midfield additions to the Liverpool playing squad coming in the form of Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam, Dalglish and Co. look to have closed their chequebook in that area of the team.
But, the Reds are still rumoured to be considering moves for a left-back and a centre half before the close of the transfer window on 31 August.
