Tottenham are looking at their options after a £15 million bid for Lassana Diarra was turned down by Real Madrid, according to Marca.
Diarra was set to head to Spurs on loan, but Madrid reportedly decided that they would only sell the Frenchman on a permanent basis, and for a price no less than £20 million.
But Tottenham were of the belief that they might be able to land Diarra for a lesser price of £15 million, and were close to coming to an agreement with the Spanish giants over a deal.
Now though, Paris Saint-Germain have come into the mix for Diarra, and with a billionaire owner, the French club are ready to spend big and build a squad capable of competing with the best in Europe.
Real Madrid reportedly now believe that they may be able to get higher than the £15 million bid Tottenham offered for Diarra, and are holding out to see what Paris Saint-Germain can put on the table.
The London club will now be considering whether to increase their bid for Diarra, or hold out until Paris Saint-Germain make a move.
