Eden Hazard is definitely not for sale, Lille club president Michel Seydoux insists, after the star met with the club and decided his long term future lies in France.
“Eden is not available for transfer. We have met, and the decision is that it he will not be sold for any price,” Seydoux said.
“We have won two trophies this season and have a project we are working on. Hazard is included in this plan and is an integral part of it. That is why he will not be leaving.”
Arsenal have long been connected with the 20-year-old winger, with Arsene Wenger reportedly seeing the Belgian as a good fit with his young side.
But with Hazard no longer an option for the Gunners manager, Wenger will now concentrate on alternative Arsenal targets, including Juan Mata, Phil Jagielka and Gary Cahill.
And with the transfer window closing in a matter of weeks, Arsenal will be looking to have any uncertain transfer targets wrapped up with either a yes or no answer by the end of the month.
