Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom says it would be a dream to join Chelsea, despite being a reported target for Arsenal.
The Gunners were said to have wanted to watch Inkoom during Tuesday's friendly with Nigeria, but due to the London riots, the opportunity never became available.
However, Inkoom is due back on English shores when his Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk side take on Fulham in the Europa League, leaving Arsenal or Chelsea with the opportunity to discuss terms with the player, who would prefer a move to Stamford Bridge.
"To be honest the day I heard Chelsea were interested in me, I was very happy," Inkoom told skysports.com.
"Who would not like to be linked with such a big club, with world class players?
"It is a dream club for any player, specifically for young African players like me. Hopefully it will happen."
Arsenal are in desperate need of some improved defensive options after seeing errors at the back undermine their quest to win their first trophy in six years last season.
Chelsea meanwhile are starting to look to the future under Andre Villa-Boas, and seen Inkoom as one of the players to lead their revolution.
Other defenders linked with Arsenal include Scott Dann, who the club are reportedly in advanced talks with, and Chris Samba.
