Sean Rigg bagged a double as Port Vale got their first victory of the season with a comfortable 3-1 win over Barnet at Underhill.
After a sluggish start from both sides, the visitors were the quicker to settle and went close with efforts from Doug Loft and Adam Yates.
It was no surprise when they took the lead in the 27th minutes thanks to a thumping 25-yard strike from Rigg which flew into the top corner.
And ten minutes later Port Vale doubled their advantage as Gary Roberts turned Bees defender Anwar Uddin inside out on the left of the penalty area before lashing high into the far corner for his second goal of the season.
Barnet started the second half brightly but it was to no avail as Rigg fired home his second with a low drive from the edge of the box just shy of the hour to put the result beyond doubt.
Jason Price grabbed a consolation for the Bees with a close range header for his first goal since signing from Carlisle.
