GMF Premier League predictions 2011/12

After Manchester City and Manchester United whetted the appetite during an enthralling Community Shield at Wembley, it's time to look ahead to the 20th season of the Barclays Premier League.

The spending spree of the Manchester pair has been overshadowed by Liverpool's own transfer spending, with five players joining Kenny Dalglish's revolution at Anfield. The investment will hopefully, from a Reds point of view, propel them into the Champions League spot, or even assist a tilte at their first title since 1990.

North London duo Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been quiet in the transfer window, but will be expected to challenge, while Chelsea's new manager Andre Villas-Boas has vowed to bring the title back to Stamford Bridge, in his first season as manager of The Blues following his mesmeric trophy laden spell at FC Porto.

Swansea City embark on their first season in the Premier League under a former Chelsea protege, Brendan Rodgers, with another former west Londoner, Scott Sinclair, spearheading a swashbuckling Swans outfit.

Neil Warnock's return to the top flight comes with Queens Park Rangers, while former European Cup winner Paul Lambert leads Norwich City back to the Premier League following a summer of spending at Carrow Road.

As ever, the season is likely to be filled with the proverbial twists and turns, making predictions all but futile. However, the prestigious GMF team, see that as nothing more than a fallacy, and have boldly attempted to predict what may unfold over the next nine months. As you were.
