West Bromwich Albion have announced the signing of Arsenal midfielder Jamie Edge.
The teenager joins the Baggies' development squad after leaving the Gunners by mutual consent earlier in the summer, and sporting director Dan Ashworth is delighted to have the youngster within the Baggies' ranks.
“Arsenal let us have a look at Jamie. He impressed us with his ability on the ball, his discipline and willingness to improve," said Ashworth.
“He has earned himself a one-year contract and the chance to progress his career here.”
Edge signed his first professional contract at Arsenal shortly after celebrating his 17th birthday back in September, with the defensive midfielder going on to feature regularly at U18 level.
The former Cheltenham Town junior move to the Emirates in 2005, but after making only one appearance for the Arsenal reserve team was allowed to leave the club.
After a successful trial period in the Midlands, Edge has signed a one-year deal at The Hawthorns.
