FC Twente star Bryan Ruiz has revealed that talks are taking place between his agent and Fulham, as the transfer window moves into its closing weeks.
Ruiz has been linked with a number of Barclays Premier League clubs over the summer, with Harry Redknapp attending a Champions League play-off between FC Twente and Benfica to watch the Costa Rican.
But Fulham look to have stolen the march on their counterparts to begin talks with Ruiz, who has made 61 appearance for the Dutch side, scoring 36 goals.
"Fulham are a serious option for me," Ruiz told Dutch newspaper Telegraaf.
"They also play in the Premier League and that's a great competition.
Fulham have contacted my agent. We are open to talks if they make a concrete offer."
Fulham have so far made five signings this summer, including Palermo midfielder Pajtim Kasami, Czech midfielder Marcel Gecov, Roma defender John Arne Riise, keeper Csaba Somogyi and young defender Dan Burn.
But while the club are heavily linked with Ruiz, the 26-year-old says he is still concentrating on playing for FC Twente until a deal is decided.
"I am not thinking about a transfer too much, because I can't do anything about what happens," he added.
"Obviously, I'm keen to make a step forward. It's not a problem for me though if I eventually stay at Twente."
