Manchester United manger Sir Alex Ferguson has lauded the confirmation of a new sponsorship deal with DHL, a leading express and logistics company.

The deal, over four years, is reportedly worth £40 million and adds to United's already healthy sponsorship portfolio.

And Ferguson believes the deal will help United keep in touch with their worldwide support.

 

"Manchester United has always been at the forefront of the game off the pitch as well on it and this partnership is another example of that," he said.

"Everyone knows about the passion of our fans in that part of the world and this deal makes it a lot easier for us to keep in touch with them."

United's end of year results are now expected to be in excess of £100 million when announced earlier this year.
