Manchester United are poised to make a swoop for Wesley Sneijder this week, with the playmaker ‘open’ to a move to Old Trafford over other English clubs, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Sneijder has been involved in a long running transfer saga this summer, with many mixed messages coming from the Inter Milan camp over whether he is for sale or not.
While Manchester United have insisted that they are not chasing Sneijder, rumours of a move to Old Trafford for the playmaker just won’t die.
And now, according to the local Manchester paper, it is believed that Sneijder could have played his last game for Inter, with United hoping to purchase the Dutchman before he plays any games in the Serie A this season.
Sneijder has reportedly not travelled with the Italian outfit to Switzerland, as they prepare for their opening match against Lecce on Sunday.
City have also reportedly made enquiries over Sneijder, but the star would rather go to United and is waiting to see what the club can offer, with the asking price from Inter said to be around £35 million.
