West Ham United midfielder Scott Parker has been subject to an enquiry from Manchester City, according to The Daily Mail.
The England international, who has also been chased by Tottenham Hotspur this summer, is on the brink of leaving The Hammers following their relegation from the Barclays Premier League last season.
However, despite Spurs' reported interest, City have jumped ahead in the pecking order.
City's trump card may be in being able to offer players in exchange, with Wayne Bridge and Shaun Wright-Phillips reportedly ready to be swapped for Parker.
Bridge spent an unsuccessful spell on loan at Upton Park last season, but City will be hoping Sam Allardyce can be tempted into making a swap.
