Arsenal have targeted Real Madrid superstar Kaka, in the hopes of appeasing the fans after Samir Nasri left for Manchester City this week, according to the Daily Mail.
Kaka has failed to impress since his £50 million move to Real Madrid, and while the midfielder has expressed a desire to stay in Spain, Jose Mourinho is said to be shopping the star around.
Arsenal have reportedly expressed an interest in Kaka’s services, but Wenger was hoping to take him on loan. Real have refused the offer, and want to sell Kaka to the Gunners for no less than £17.5 million.
While Kaka does not normally fit Arsenal’s transfer policy of chasing young players, Wenger is reportedly desperate to show the fans that he has an intent to win a trophy this season and end six years of heartache.
And after Cesc Fabregas and Nasri left Arsenal, Wenger has in excess of £60 million in the bank to spend, and the manager is now reportedly willing to buy a big name player. Paris Saint-Germain and Sao Paulo are also said to be interested in Kaka.
