Spurs prepare improved £16m striker bid - reports

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing a second bid for Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao.

The Internacional forward was the subject of a £12 million offer from Spurs back in June, and Harry Redknapp is poised to make an improved offer for the 22-year-old.

Reports in both The Sun and The Daily Mail claim Barcelona are also interested in the player, who made his international debut against Scotland back in March.

Tottenham Hotspur secured the services of another striker, Emmanuel Adebayor, on loan yesterday, and also added Spanish winger Iago Falque on loan from Juventus to bolster their attacking ranks.

With Spurs now looking set to keep hold of Luka Modric, the future is looking brighter for Redknapp after fears earlier in the summer that several key players could leave White Hart Lane.

Damiao would add further power to the Tottenham Hotspur striking ranks, and is also eligible for the Europa League after Spurs secured qualification with a 5-0 aggregate win over Hearts last night (Thursday).
