West Ham have offered a trial to former Fulham and Portsmouth midfielder Papa Bouba Diop reports the Daily Mirror.
The 33-year-old Senegalese international is a free agent after leaving AEK Athens at the end of last season, and is keen to return to England.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is still looking to add depth to his Upton Park squad, and is a known admirer of players of Diop's ilk.
Nicknamed 'The Wardrobe' due to his height and large frame, Diop is well known for his strength and solid style of play, which would make him well suited to the Npower Championship.
As speculation surrounding the future of Scott Parker continues to mount, West Ham may be looking to fill the void left by his imminent departure.
The Hammers have strengthened over the summer with the additions of Kevin Nolan, Abdoulaye Faye, Joey O'Brien, Matt Taylor and John Carew, and are reported to be in negotiations to sign MK Dons striker Sam Baldock before the close of the transfer window next week.
