Tottenham Hotspur are in discussions with West Ham United over a move for Scott Parker, the Npower Championship side have confirmed.
Speculation has been rife all summer that the England international would leave Upton Park for a return to the top flight, with the midfielder keen to ply his trade at the highest-level to maintain a place in Fabio Capello's Three Lions squad.
Harry Redknapp confirmed earlier in the transfer window that Parker was a player of interest to Tottenham Hotspur, and the North Londoners appear a step closer to bringing the player to White Hart Lane.
The Hammers were thought to be keen on letting the player leave on a season-long loan deal, but reports suggest a permanent Spurs switch could be on the cards for a fee in the region of £7 million.
Parker's signature would be another boost for Harry Redknapp, who yesterday secured the services of Emmanuel Adebayor and Iago Falque on loan at Tottenham Hotspur.
The news comes just 24 hours after Lassana Diarra denied that a deal had been reached for the Real Madrid midfielder to move to Spurs.
