Harley is ample replacement - Poyet

Gus Poyet has backed Ryan Harley to fill the void left by departed winger Elliott Bennett in the Brighton attack.

Harley, signed from Swansea, made an immediate impact at the Amex with a stunning free-kick in Saturday's 2-0 win over Peterborough which sent Albion top.

Seagulls boss Poyet said: "We had a chat with Ryan in the week and he responded with a very good free-kick. That is the kind of thing he is capable of."

He added: "It was a spectacular strike.

"It's very important for us to have a player at the club who can score like that."

The Seagulls could not prevent Bennett moving to the Premier League with Norwich earlier this summer.
