Gunners dealt blow in £17.5m Brazilian chase

Arsenal midfield target Kaka says he is not planning on leaving Real Madrid this season, as the transfer window enters it’s final days.

‘I am very happy with the game. To start the league by winning six goals to zero, and with a goal and assist, is magnificent,’ Kaka said.

‘As I've always said, I want to stay in Madrid. All that I can say is that reports of my father talking to other clubs are a lie.

‘The coach [Mourinho] said in yesterday's news conference of how he is counting on me this season, and that gives me peace of mind.”

Arsenal have been connected to the superstar over the last couple of weeks, with Arsene Wenger looking to make some big purchases to appease the fans. And if the manager were to purchase Kaka, with the Brazilian costing £17.5 million according to the Daily Mail, fans would certainly be pleased.

And after Arsenal’s dismal performance against Manchester United on Sunday, the Gunners manager has reportedly stepped up his efforts to spend big before the window closes on Wednesday night.

But after Kaka insisted he wants to stay in Spain, Arsenal will now look to alternative targets, with Wenger hoping to use a great deal of the £50 million accumulated from Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri’s sales.
