Owen Hargreaves has been seen leaving a medical at Manchester City today, in a move that will shock fans and pundits alike.

Hargreaves was released by Manchester United in June this year after making 27 appearances over four years for the side, with the 30-year-old being told he could look for another club.

Hargreaves was strongly connected to a move to West Bromich Albion, with Roy Hodgson revealing last week that the midfielder had a ‘minor medical’ at the club.

But Manchester City look to have stolen the march on Hodgson, and have entered into talks to bring Hargreaves to United’s biggest rival club.

Hargeaves was continually plagued by injury while at United, but West Brom were confident that the star would pass an official medical at the club.

Earlier this season Hargreaves released youtube videos to prove his fitness, and the public relations stunt looks to have paid off, with City now interested in the England international’s services.

Should Hargreaves move to City, it will make the club’s derby with United in October even more interesting.
