Arsenal are awaiting movement on a £12 million bid for Sochaux midfielder Marvin Martin, according to The Sun.

Martin has impressed for Sochaux since joining the French club in 2008, and has attracted attention from numerous European clubs as a result.

Arsenal have in particular been linked with the 23-year-old, with Arsene Wenger seeing the starlet as full of potential and already establishing himself as a top class playmaker.

And while Arsenal were on the lookout for a midfielder this summer, Wenger’s search has particularly stepped up after the departures of Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas.

According to the paper, Arsenal are planning to spend over £45 million over the next 12 hours, with Yann M’Vila, Per Mertesacker, Chu-Young Park and Everton duo Marouane Fellaini and Mikel Arteta on Wenger’s hitlist.
