Arsenal miss out on attacking pair - reports

Arsenal have missed out signing Ajax winger Miralem Suljmani and Lazio striker Mauro Zarate on deadline day of the transfer window, claim Metro.

Manager Arsene Wenger has completed deals for Andre Santos and Per Mertesacker on deadline day but attempts to add an attacking player to his ranks have as yet failed.

Zarate is set to move to Inter Milan, while Suljmani is ready to stay with Ajax, as Arsenal’s search for further resources continues.

The duo’s revelation is the latest blow to Arsenal’s wishes to bolster their squad following the loss of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.

Arsenal may now turn their attention to Yann M’Vila.
