Spurs defender switch on the brink – reports

Published Add your comment

Aston Villa are closing in on the signing of Alan Hutton from Tottenham Hotspur, according to skysports.com.

The 26-year-old has been given permission to leave training with Scotland, ahead of their Euro 2012 double header.

And with Villa having offloaded Luke Young to Queens Park Rangers, Alex McLeish is keen to bring a replacement to bolster his attacking options.

Hutton had even been linked with a move to Fulham, but Villa appear to have won the race.

The Scot had seen his opportunities limited at Tottenham, and hopes are high that reuniting with former manager McLeish, can help reignite his club career with Villa.
