Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Welsh international striker Craig Bellamy.

The Manchester City forward, who was given permission to leave Gary Speed's squad to finalise terms at Anfield earlier on Wednesday, has finally put pen to paper on a deal with less than an hour remaining on deadline day.

Initial reports claim the player has penned a two-year deal at Anfield, having completed a medical earlier in the day and finalising a free transfer move.

Bellamy has previously spent a year with Liverpool under Rafa Benitez between 2006/07. After moving to West Ham United and then the Etihad Stadium, the Welshman also spent time at Cardiff City on loan last term.

Liverpool have confirmed the player will wear No.39 for the current campaign.
