Liverpool players enjoyed a successful international break, with Dirk Kuyt enjoying it more than most with Holland.

The Dutchman scored the fourth in an 11-0 victory over San Marino, with Arsenal striker Robin van Persie notably scoring four in the rout.

Stewart Downing was a starter for England in their 3-0 victory in Bulgaria, whilst midfield colleague Jordan Henderson was involved for the Young Lions on Thursday night in a 6-0 win over Azerbaijan.

Deadline day addition Craig Bellamy played 90 minutes for Wales in their 2-1 victory against Montenegro, whilst Martin Skrtel added another international clean sheet to his name in the 0-0 draw for Slovakia against Republic of Ireland.

Pepe Reina came off the bench for Spain in a memorable 3-2 friendly win over Chile, with Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas scoring twice, including a 90th minute winner.

Luis Suarez also enjoyed a successful evening, involved in two of Uruguay's goals in a 3-2 friendly win over Ukraine.

Defender signing Sebastian Coates came off the bench in the same game, enjoying just over 15 minutes of action for his country.
