Pools boss praise for Solano

Hartlepool manager Mick Wadsworth lauded the performance of 36-year-old Nolberto Solano in the victory over Exeter.

The Peruvian international played 60 minutes in the 2-0 victory, setting up Antony Sweeney for the opening goal, and he almost scored himself when his effort struck a post.

"Nobby was terrific, his passing was sublime," Wadsworth told The Northern Echo.

"If his shot had gone in it would have been a fantastic goal. He usually has a bit of bend on his shots, but this went as straight as a die."

Wadsworth conceded that Solano's age means he won't feature in every match but he is happy to get what he can out of the midfielder.

"I want him to maintain his fitness and be a contributor. I'm sure he won't play every game, but he's fantastic to have around the place, no doubt about that," he added.
